Gray Fox is a cybernetically enhanced agent who was once an ally of Solid Snake, believed dead before reappearing during the Shadow Moses incident. He is neither an ally nor an enemy of Snake but actively opposes FOXHOUND. His most notable intervention occurs when he cuts off Revolver Ocelot's right hand during a gunfight between Ocelot and Snake. Later, Snake realizes the ninja is his former ally Gray Fox, who was thought dead. Gray Fox's cybernetic enhancements grant him superhuman abilities, allowing him to move with incredible speed and agility, and he wields a blade capable of severing limbs.

In Their Own Story

During the Shadow Moses incident, Gray Fox first appears as a mysterious cyborg ninja who intervenes in a confrontation between Solid Snake and Revolver Ocelot. As Ocelot prepares to shoot Snake, the ninja suddenly appears and cuts off Ocelot's right hand, allowing Snake to escape. Later, when Snake encounters the ninja again, he realizes the figure is his former ally Gray Fox, who was believed dead. Gray Fox's motivations remain ambiguous throughout the game, but he consistently acts against FOXHOUND, aiding Snake at critical moments without fully aligning with him.
